Self ID Toolkit Webinar – Open to Public

Join us for the official launch of the IPHCC Self-Identification Toolkit—a vital resource to support organizations in respectfully collecting and managing self-identification data.

This toolkit is designed to uphold cultural safety and Indigenous data sovereignty, and includes: Two Online Learning Modules

Module 1: For frontline and administrative staff responsible for asking self-identification questions

Module 2: For process leads and implementation teams overseeing rollout and ensuring Indigenous data sovereignty is upheld after the data has been collected Resource Package Posters to inform clients at your organization about the introduction of a self-identification process A question guide with suggested responses to common client questions and concerns A self-identification form template for voluntary client use A data collector’s guide with instructions on how and when to ask the question The Secure Govern Act Report (SGAR) Model outlining data sovereignty strategies and key considerations Communication tools, including template letters to share the introduction and purpose of the self-identification process to partners Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) Template Developed by an Indigenous-led law firm to support organizations in asserting data sovereignty and responding to external data requests Implementation Supports Practical tools and guidance to help organizations implement the self-identification process effectively Through this webinar, attendees will gain insight into the toolkit’s development, its components, practical applications, and how to access and begin using the resources.
