Public Health
The Public Health department leads initiatives aimed at supporting the health and wellbeing of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis (FNIM) Peoples in Ontario.
Through a range of portfolios, the department works to reduce health inequities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations and improve access to culturally safe public health services and resources. Key focus areas include communicable diseases (e.g. COVID-19, Mpox, RSV, HPV), engagement between member sites and public health agencies, cultural safety, and emergency planning support for sector evacuations.
