Introducing the new eHealth Center of Excellence.

How can the eHealth Centre of Excellence support you?
The eHealth Centre of Excellence is a not-for-profit organization that supports clinicians to seamlessly integrate digital health solutions into their current clinical workflows, working closely with them to help them realize the value that technology can bring to practice efficiencies and care delivery.
We support the “people” side of change with a team of change management specialists that work closely with clinicians and their teams, at no cost to them, to help them to adopt and use digital health tools optimally in ways that create more efficient workflows and also enhance the quality of patient care. Many of our change management specialists have completed the San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training program, and we are committed to growing our understanding of the rich heritage and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
In terms of our offerings, we are co-leading two provincially funded programs: the Ontario eServices Program (delivering eReferral and eConsult) and Evidence2Practice Ontario, which is creating a suite of EMR-integrated tools that make it easier for clinicians to access quality standard information at the point of care.
Our eCE Automates division has been creating a family of bots or “virtual assistants” that can take on some of the mundane administrative work that clinicians are currently carrying out, enabling them to spend more time with their patients. One of our bots, which supports clinicians with documentation of their patients’ COVID-19 vaccine status, saved one primary care team (comprised of 10 family physicians) approximately 87 hours of manual data entry! This bot is also a good example of how digital health tools can enable more preventative care: once the vaccine statuses have been documented, clinicians can run a list from their EMRs to identify patients who have not yet been immunized and may benefit from a proactive intervention.
Coming soon, we’ll also be offering eCE Shield, a cybersecurity and eLearning program that helps clinicians and their teams to recognize and prevent breaches.
